Getting What You Want
Are you living your ideal life or have you settled? Getting what you want doesn’t have to be elusive. We talk about that and more on this week’s Queer Money™. Join us to get what you really really want.
We’re Getting What We Really Want and You Can, Too
We’re riding a high off of a fantastic week, and we’re excited to share it all with you. We just returned from a week in Ohio where we had our own little, Debt Free Guys™’ speaking tour. We’re not Madonna, but she’s not me.
It’s been a goal of ours for a while to get into the speaking arena. For one, it’ll help us achieve the ultimate goal of what we really want, and that’s to spend more time together. For another, it’ll help us build a stronger, louder voice in LGBT finance.
Find out how we got to this point.
Our Selfish Goal
It’s true that we have three goals in life. The first is that we want to save for a financially secure retirement. The second is that we want to travel the world a whole lot more. The third is that we want to give back to our queer community. Our non-altruistic reason for these goals, though, is so that we can spend more time together.
We’re still madly in love, and despite being together for 13 years now, we want a life conducive to spending more time together.
One of Many Income Streams to Get What We Want
Our primary platform is Debt Free Guys™. We’ve built and are building multiple income streams under Debt Free Guys™ so that our business will become our only source of revenue. We’re nearly there.
One of those streams of income, public speaking, has taken a while to build. We’re not fortunate enough that it’s taking shape. But, this required a lot of hard work and sacrifice.
Are You Really Willing to Do What It Takes to Get What You Really Want?
The only reason we’re now able to do what we really want is that we put in the hard work and sacrifice to make it happen. To get what we really want, meant giving up going out to the clubs. We declined RSVPs to Sunday Funday Brunches. We’ve had to cancel bikes & brews with friends. We’ve only seen one season of Game of Thrones.
Our trade-offs have been waking up at 4:30 am to do Debt Free Guys™ social media. We’ve spent all weekend writing content for DebtFreeGuys.com and our partner’s platforms, such as Forbes, HuffPo and Motley Fool. We practiced our speech 18 times in one weekend even though it was beautiful outside.
What you really really want you’ll really get. So, what do you really really want?
