Success through personal development
Jim Rohn said, “Your level of success rarely exceeds your level of personal development because success is something you attract by the person you become.” What are you attracting?
The personal development success magnet
I was running the other day, and was just about finished – in that space where I felt like I couldn’t run anymore but knew the end was literally around the corner – and a quote I heard on the Stacking Benjamins podcast struck me. I almost stopped but didn’t because I didn’t want to cheat myself.
Joe was interviewing Hal Elrod, author of The Miracle Morning, and Hal shared the quote above of Jim Rohn’s. I thought, “It is true that the only way to success is through personal development!”
This isn’t rocket science. I knew that. I just never thought about it; it just finally made sense to me. I thought this was so simple yet profound, as we often look externally to fix ourselves and our current results.
The power to change our lives for the better is inside of us, every single one of us. The key to doing so, according to Jim Rohn and Hal Elrod, is to make ourselves better otherwise we’ll maintain the status quo.
This is so true!

Personal development isn’t expensive
The thought of going back to school or hiring a personal development coach sends me into a panic. I don’t want to pay for that. You probably don’t want to pay for that – but we both want success, and if we want success then we must work on our personal development.
Here are some free or not-so-expensive resources:
- Educational YouTube videos
- Educational podcasts, like Queer Money
- Personal development apps
- Personal development, education e-books
- Facebook groups, like the private Queer Money Facebook group
- LinkedIn groups

Hi John
Dealing with financial problem just like dealing with any other matter, it will not change until you change yourself. The outside is just distraction.
Financial situation wouldn’t change until you change your spending and increase your cash flow.
Thanks for post.
