Four questions to ask yourself to identify your ikigai

For most, a precarious financial situation is a symptom of something else. Our $51,000 in credit card debt, for example, was about seeking validation and love. But the things we buy rarely give us the sense of long-term happiness and fulfillment we’re hoping for. And while there are systemic issues that get in our way as the LGBTQ community, those roadblocks are overcome-able with the right purpose or motivation.

But how do you uncover your purpose? And more importantly, how do you take steps to build your life around that purpose?

On this episode of Queer Money®, we share the Japanese philosophy of ikigai that helped us find our purpose, explaining how the term translates to ‘reason for being.’  We walk you through the four questions to ask yourself to identify your ikigai, challenging you to consider what you love, what you’re good at, what the world needs and what you can get paid well for.

Listen in to understand why purpose is the foundation of a happy gay life and learn how to design a plan to achieve your ikigai—and the financial wellbeing that comes with it!
